Dear Wine Lover,
This is on its best way to become one of the most sought after Champagnes worldwide, even more requested as Champagnes such as Ruinart or Dom Pérignon. This is not because of the name but because of what youll find in the glass here. This project is run by the entire Rothschild family: Baron Philippe de Rotschild (owner of Château Mouton Rothschild), Baron Eric de Rothschild (owner of Château Lafite Rothschild) and Baron Benjamin de Rothschild (owner of Château Clarke). In 2007 the 3 branches of the Rothschilds have decided to unify their sthrenghst and know-how under this one label - Barons de Rothschild to craft an outstanding collection of Champagnes that not only symbolize quality, but also embody it.
Their Brut and Rosè deliver excellent quality and value for money. This principally for the rigid selection which is untertaken to select the grapes used for the wine process. At the moment the production is around 30000 bottles, which may sounds like a large production but there are many other producers putting out millions of bottles, therefore, I would say this is a good level to keep with the highest of standards. Even an exclusive house like Maison Krug produces more bottles than Barons de Rothschild. FFurther the grape varieties are coming from the best villages within the Grand Cru and 1er Cru areas. For the most part, the Chardonnay grapes are grown in the Côte des Blancs (Avize, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger) and the Pinot Noir grapes are coming from Verzenay, Ay, Mareuil-sur-Ay, and Ambonnay. The cherry on top is the Clos Prieur one-hectare-plot grown by the Vertus family, that brings an added value to these top-of-the-line Champagnes.
What I would like to underly to your attention today is their Brut and Rose wine, both of sublime quality. Would you like to give it a try?

Davide Vaccarini 18.5 points: This Champagne is an emblematic Rosé, which will surely please the palates of Champagne Blanc lovers. The Chardonnay shows a striking pure minerality which is complemented with a touch of red wine, Pinot Noir, of course! If you let this wine warm up a bit in the glass its possible to feel the fruit character, notes of fresh raspberry and nuances of flowers petals. Blend of 85% Chardonnay from the best terroir of the Côte des Blancs and 15% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. Such a refreshing and neat Rosé with around 7 gr/l of residual sugar.
