A new discovery from Montalcino

Dear Wine Lover,

One of our very good client called us to thank us for the 2005 Leoville Las Cases we sold him last year, he said the wine was absolutely sensational and even better than Mouton Rothschild 2005 which he open on the same night.

It is highly acclaimed by all wine critics, Rated 100 points by Wine Spectator, which really seldom awards a wine with 100 points, who declared: “This is breathtaking. Time will tell if it's better than the 2000.” Thanks to our great relationship we managed to secure some cases directly from the Chateau which never moved from the Châteaux cellar guaranteeing a perfect provenience and the best quality you can find on the market for this wine!  All is in Original Wooden cases and in absolute perfect condition.

We compared the ratings of all the first growth from Médoc and Leoville Las Cases, and we also made the average rating, the highest rated wine is Margaux but it costs 3 time the price of Las Cases!

It is also the cheapest Las Cases with perfect rating:

Las Cases 1986 – 100 Parker – selling at CHF 440.00+Vat

Las Cases 2000 – 100 Wine Spectator – selling at CHF 345.00+Vat

Las Cases 2005 – 100 Wine Spectator – selling at CHF 285.00+Vat

This was most probably the last Ex-Château release for this tremendous vintage of Las Cases, these will be allocated following the first come first serve principal. Hope you will be one of the lucky owners of this wine:

75.0 cl Léoville Las Cases (Ex-Chateau) - St. Julien - Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2005 CHF 285.00 (CHF 307.80 Vat Incl.)

36 bottles or more at CHF 265.00 (CHF 286.20 Vat Incl.)

Ultra-rare Imperial at CHF 3’000.00 (CHF 3’240.00 Vat Incl.)

Wine Spectator 100 Points: This is breathtaking. Black in color, with incredible aromas of crushed blackberry, mineral, licorice and lead pencil. Full-bodied, with a mind-blowing texture of seamless tannins that coat every millimeter of the palate. Goes on and on, with licorice, currant and flowers. Time will tell if it's better than the 2000. Best after 2017. 20,000 cases made.

James Suckling 99 Points: A stunningly complex and complete nose of flowers, dark fruits, and minerals. Very perfumed and subtle at the same time. The palate is full, yet tight and powerful with perfect tannins and a long, long finish. The quality of the tannins is phenomenal, please leave this alone for ten years. Pull the cork in 2020.

Robert Parker 98 Points: Another titanic effort from the Delon family, the 2005 Leoville Las Cases is probably the greatest wine made at this estate since Jean-Hubert Delons father produced the 1986 and 1996. Only 37% of the production made it into the 2005, a blend of primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with less than 13% Merlot and Cabernet Franc. An inky/ruby/purple color is accompanied by reticent aromatics that, with considerable coaxing, offer up subtle notes of toasty vanillin intermixed with lead pencil shavings, wet rocks, and enormously ripe, intense black cherry and creme de cassis. The wine hits the palate with a full-bodied, layered mouthfeel as well as enormous extract, concentration, and purity. This ageless, monumental claret requires a minimum of 15-20 years to approach maturity, and should last for a half century. It is about as classic a Leoville Las Cases as one will find. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2060

Rene Gabriel 19 PointsSattes Violett-Purpur, bläulich-schwarze Reflexe.
