Dear Wine Lover,
I just realized that you never purchased any Burgundy wine from us but as this is one of the most interesting releases of this vintage I thought to ask if you drink any Burgundy from time to time? The new vintage of Clos des Lambrays 2015, produced by Domaine des Lambrays which is recognized by all connoisseurs and Burgundy lovers as one of the top estates in Burgundy, has now just been released on the market! Domaines de Lambrays owns 8.66 hectares of vineyards in the Clos de Lambrays cru on a total of 8.84 hectares being almost a Monopole wine like Romanee Conti and La Tache! It was even elevated to Grand Cru in year 1981 as the wines produced from this vineyards are absolutely amazing.
Domaine des Lambrays established in 1363 was promoted Grand Cru only in 1981, being managed by the affable and talented Thierry Brouin but got the worlds attention when LVHM decided to purchase this Domaine in 2014. Like many Burgundy vineyards, the Clos des Lambrays has had many owners over the years, as the result of France's Napoleonic inheritance laws. Immediately after the French Revolution the site had more than 70 owners. Clos des Lambrays was reunified in 1868. The Clos des Lambrays is divided into three sub-climats: Meix Rentier in the eastern, lower corner, Les Larrets in the higher western corner and Les Bouchots in the north. The size differences between these plots are only small, but the terroir of the vineyard varies measurably. The lower portion has a much higher limestone content, while the upper part is dominated more by marl. With a production of fewer than 3000 cases per vintage, the 2015 is a true great vintage, confirmed by the excellent notes of a potential 95 points, that both Robert Parkers Wine Advocate and Allen Meadows, the most renowned Burgundy wines critic, discerned to the Clos des Lambrays.
I just would like to add a comment from Robert Parkers Wine Advocate on Clos des Lambrays 2015: this Clos des Lambrays has a charm of its own what could we add more?

Robert Parker Wine Advocate 93-95 Points: "The 2015 Clos de Lambrays Grand Cru contains 95% whole cluster fruit, part of the crop with thicker skins deprived of their stems according to winemaker Thierry Brouin. It is being aged in 50% new oak. It has dusky black fruit on the nose, earthier than I was expecting given the growing season, the stem addition lending a subtle undergrowth and moss-like scent. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin and offers succinctly judged acidity. It is certainly harmonious in the mouth with a generous dash of black pepper on the finish, a pleasant prickle in the mouth after the wine has departed. Whilst not the purring engine that is Clos de Tart since it is more rough-hewn perhaps, this Clos des Lambrays has a charm of its own.Allen Meadows 92-95 Points: Sweet Spot - Once again the nose is quite ripe yet very fresh with its layered array of spicy and markedly floral-inflected black cherry and plum scents. There is impressive size, weight and power to the more mineral-driven and refined medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by a distinctly firm tannic spine on the wonderfully persistent and mildly austere finale. This is one very serious wine in 2015 and thus be prepared to allow it at least 10 to 12 years first.
