Dear Wine Lover,
We are delighted to offer you an absolute newcomer in our assortment which you should definitely try !
Its a secret project of producer Tenuta Sette Ponti. From a historical vineyard planted in 1935, Tenuta Sette Ponti crafts a 100% Sangiovese called Vigna dell Impero of which we are delighted to offer you the fantastic 2015 vintage. Only 12'000 bottles have been produced, every single bottles is numbered and almost impossible to find on the market.
Given the uniqueness of the Vigna dell'Impero and to improve the best qualities of this Tuscan Sangiovese, where the plants are from 1935, a particularly soft and long maceration is used for about a month to highlight all the noble components of the grapes harvested at ideal phenolic maturity. It is then matured in large 15 and 25 hl barrels for about 24 months and then again in the bottle for several months. Finally, it is not filtered to obtain all the typical and characteristic varietal notes of Sangiovese from Tuscany, but above all the area from which it comes.
The first vintage produced was the 2012 followed by the 2013. 2014 was not produced as quality wasnt recognised as high enough, and 2015 Vigna dellImpero is now back with an exquisite Sangiovese which was awarded with 95-96 points by James Suckling !

James Suckling 95-96 points: A tight and focused red with cherry, earth and orange peel. Roses, too. Full body yet very reserved with ultra-fine tannins and a fresh finish. Linear and beautiful. Old vine sangiovese. Shows outstanding potential.
